All-Day Workshop
I designed this workshop as a gentle entry into the coding industry for people with no prior experience. It has run dozens of times in Seattle, Portland, and New York with cohorts as large as 50. Learners write HTML and CSS, pair program, work in teams, and deploy sites on GitHub, and learn what it’s like to work as a professional developer. It works as a small taste of a coding bootcamp so learners can decide whether to keep going.
My Contributions
I designed and developed this workshop with an instructor after the client approved my outline. I built a full facilitator's guide, template HTML and CSS files, a handout packet, and a set of Google Slides to run the day. The instructor and I wrote the speaking script together for the slides and guide.
Tools Used
Google Docs and Google Slides were used to produce the written documentation and lecture slides. I used Adobe Illustrator to produce the print handouts and used Atom as my Text Editor to code the templates, which I then stored on GitHub.
